A Comparative Study of Five English Versions of Ding Feng Bo from the Perspective of Eco-Translatology

Chinese classical poetry involves abundant information about traditional culture, playing an important role in the publicity of culture and history. The proper Chinese-English translation will help eliminate barriers to target readers’ comprehension, promoting conveyance cultural connotation aesthetic value poetry. Based on Eco-translatology, this paper takes five representative English versions Ding Feng Bo as a research corpus explores prosody, onomatopoeia, culture-loaded words, emotional aspects whether three dimensions–language dimension, communication dimension have been effectively transformed, so evaluate quality translation. Through multifaceted consideration, it is suggested that version by Xu Yuanchong more accordance with three-dimensional transformation, achieving harmony between selection adaptation. function eco-translatology not only provides strategies for but also facilitates construction China’s public discourse images international external culture.
